Red Cross Courses are recognized throughout the country. They all include CPR, AED training, and a varying degree of knowledge and skill depending on the duration of the course. Two of our courses are a recognized OFA 1 equivalent. None of the courses have an age requirement, though 12 is the youngest recommended.
- CPR-C: A basic look at first aid. It includes preparing to respond, all life-saving skills, CPR, and AED training for adults, infants, and children. 5-6 hours.
- Emergency First Aid: CPR-C with additional training in a secondary assessment and wound care. This is considered by Worksafe BC as an OFA-1 equivalent. 7-8 hours.
- Standard First Aid: This is our most comprehensive course and adds slings and splints, more medical conditions, environmental, and poisoning to the Emergency First Aid course. This course is considered an OFA-1 equivalent. 15-16 hours.
- Marine Basic: Standard First Aid on a boat! Everything in the Standard First Aid course, plus some additional content relevant to being on a ship. This course meets all Transport Canada requirements.
Emergency and Standard Childcare courses are focused entirely on youth. Adult skills have been replaced with skills and knowledge focused on children and infants. These courses are available for group courses only.
